Automating the Vitacom logistics center

Vitacom moved from a 2,200 square meter warehouse to a new location, and currently operates in a 5,000 square meter warehouse and manages 12,000 items. The new logistics center is fully automated with modern equipment and technologies that are part of the industry 4.0 phenomenon.

The WMS system controls the systems and robots in the warehouse, and by integrating the warehouse management software with automation solutions (Conveior, AutoStore, VNA), the distributor has optimized its logistics activities and storage space. Thus, the company managed to obtain increased control and visibility over all operations in the logistics area and, at the same time, to improve the speed and accuracy of processes.

The system is integrated with the AutoStore program, which is the most important part of the warehouse. It greatly streamlines the activity of our colleagues and is currently calibrated for picking. Currently, a single operator can pick 150 orders per hour, which means a lot.

WMS is a system that is used in all logistics activities, with the help of which we have high control and precision in all aspects related to the movement of goods, and in case of errors, they can be quickly identified. I can say that we have full control.

The system is integrated with the AutoStore program, which is the most important part of the warehouse. It greatly streamlines the activity of our colleagues and is currently calibrated for picking. Currently, a single operator can pick 150 orders / hour, which means a lot.

Also, our storage capacity has increased by much more compared to the surface of the warehouse, and thanks to the VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) type stacker integrated with WMS, we can have a distance of 1.80 – 1.85 meters between the shelves, compared to the three and a half meters that we had in the old warehouse. This machine works on an iGo pilot system that receives commands automatically from the WMS and, thus, the operator cannot make mistakes. Following the order received from the WMS, the VNA forklift stops exactly at the location where it has to pick up or place a pallet.

WMS integrated with SeniorXRP – for integrated business management

The WMS system was perfectly integrated with SeniorXRP – the ERP type development platform from Senior Software. Thus, the company gained greater control and visibility over the business, by connecting processes and integrated management of business flows. Orders from customers are sent from SeniorXRP to WMS, to be prepared for delivery, and any information about products and inventory, the stage of preparation of orders from the warehouse and more, is easily visualized in ERP.

The benefits we get with SeniorXRP are many. We have redefined processes, simplified them and made them more efficient, they are currently stable and very accessible.
